One STATE--One TEAM:Conserving Energy Together
Help us conserve energy
We continue to work together to reduce energy consumption and the related spiraling costs that affect Mississippi State, ensuring the most responsible use of our resources.
To help with this effort, a Facilities Use team is improving the university's overall energy plan, as well as providing occasional spot checks of energy use in individual campus buildings. We've made a good start, but we need to do even more.
To identify problem areas on our campus, we are asking our energy review team to canvass the campus. Where they find areas of inefficiency and unnecessary energy use, individual building managers will be asked to come to campus to take care of the problem immediately. Please help us take this issue seriously and take responsible actions to reduce our energy use.
What can I do?
You can help by turning off all lights in your office and building before you leave each day. Designating one person to walk through the building at the close of business is a good idea to see that lights are off in conference rooms, restrooms, and individual offices. Turn off all individually controlled heating, and air conditioning units during non-working hours. We waste an enormous amount of energy when lights and individually controlled units are in use unnecessarily during weekends and holidays.
